Trippy pulls you in. Rings of blue, white, green and red stack one inside another, almost like staring into a tiny target you can’t look away from. The best part is that those colors were never supposed to become jewelry at all. Sometimes the coolest things come from what gets left behind.
Fordite, sometimes called Detroit Agate, isn’t a natural stone. It was created from layers of automotive paint that accumulated in old factory paint booths, where repeated trips through the curing ovens hardened the overspray. Those layers can be cut and polished like stone, revealing the colorful patterns built up over years of automobile production. This piece of Fordite is set by hand in sterling silver with a twisted wire border.
Materials + Care
My jewelry is imperfect and meant to look warn. I feel it adds to the one of a kind, handmade quality. I feel it's magic is to continue aging, gathering your energy in it's bones. Please let the dark spots darken and to refresh your shine, brush the high spots with 0000 steel wool. Avoid chemicals & water. Using silver polish will shine it up, removing the distressed patina.
