Please note - Once your package leaves our hands and is in the hands of the shipping carrier (I.e. USPS), it is no longer the responsibility of Hotel Ugly, and we are not responsible for lost packages. Most pieces are one-of-a-kind and unfortunately cannot be replaced if lost by shipping carriers. Please reach out if there is a typo in your shipping address and we'll correct it if we're still in possession of the item.
If your package is lost or stolen in transit please contact your local Postal Office to see what information they can provide and let us know about the issue. We're happy to help get an insurance claim set up and make sure you get compensated for the lost item.

Details
Racer has a few miles on it, and that's what makes it interesting. Layers of color spiral around one another like a racetrack, each one a little reminder of another time, another place and another story. There's something wonderful about taking a piece of automotive history and giving it a second life. The cars may be long gone, but a little of their spirit lives on. Some things are just too good to leave in the rearview mirror.
Fordite, also known as Detroit Agate, isn't a natural gemstone at all. It's a remarkable piece of American automotive history, formed from layers of enamel paint that accumulated on racks and fixtures in automobile factories during the era of hand-sprayed production. Repeated trips through the curing ovens hardened those layers into colorful deposits that could eventually be cut and polished like stone. Racer reveals an extraordinary series of concentric rings in red, cream, gold and black, surrounded by fine, shimmering lines that record countless layers of paint. Set in sterling silver with a substantial twisted wire border and a wide silver band, this ring transforms an industrial byproduct into a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable history.
One of a Kind. Handmade in McKinney Texas.
Materials + Care
My jewelry is imperfect and meant to look warn. I feel it adds to the one of a kind, handmade quality. I feel it's magic is to continue aging, gathering your energy in it's bones. Please let the dark spots darken and to refresh your shine, brush the high spots with 0000 steel wool. Avoid chemicals & water. Using silver polish will shine it up, removing the distressed patina.
